On a rainy april morning, before dawn, the Waukesha West Bands boarded five buses and departed west for Mitchell International Airport. With one flight leaving from Milwaukee, and the other two leaving from Chicago, the three flights all made it to Los Angeles and the students got to spend the rest of the day at Universal Studios. Other highlights of the trip included Mission Beach, dinner at Planet Hollywood, performances at the World of Music Festival, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and Old Town San Diego (for flight A).
