| There are currently two Jazz bands at Waukesha West; Jazz I and Jazz II. Jazz I is the advanced jazz ensemble and meets during the school day every other day. Jazz I plays more challenging music and often is invited to play at other venues and well as performances at Jazz festivals.
Jazz II meets once a week in the morning to practice. They play slightly easier music than Jazz I but still work hard to perform at their highest level.
Both Jazz ensembles require auditions to be in them. Both of these ensembles also perform at the WSMA district solo/ensemble festival in March and Jazz I performs at the State level as well.
