Weekend activities October 6 & 7, 2007
DC Everest and Merrill Competitions

Saturday October 6
11:00 am Students arrive at West (some sections may arrive earlier)
Rehearsal and Warm-up sessions (Eat before you arrive!!)

12:45 PM Front Line, Battery, and Guard load equipment on truck
1:20 PM Winds load equipment & uniforms on truck
1:55 PM Meeting in Auditorium for all trip participants
2:25 – 2:40 PM Load buses and depart
5:30 PM Dinner stop in or near Stevens Point
(Usually McDonald’s and other restaurants at 127 Division Street, Stevens Point WI, 54481
Bring money for fast food dinner)
(6:20 PM) Competition begins (Competition schedule listed below)
7:20 PM Arrive D.C. Everest Jr. High “Stiehm Stadium”

9:30 PM Waukesha West Performance
10:00 PM Awards Ceremony (followed by snack provided by boosters)
11:45 PM Arrive at Prairie River Middle School in Merrill
(106 N. Polk St. Merrill, 54452) – Overnight on Gym floor

Sunday October 7 (times subject to adjustment)
7:45 am Rise & Shine (Rise mandatory, shine optional)
8:00 am Breakfast (Band Parents Provide)
9:00 – 12:45 Rehearsals

1:00 PM Lunch (Band Parents provide)
2:00 PM Change into Uniforms, Load Equipment
2:45 PM Depart Merrill Jr. High School
3:00 PM Arrive at Merrill High School “Jay Stadium” Warm-up

** Students: Bring with you Saturday:

• Instrument/Equipment and all uniform parts: Hat box, uniform bag, shoes, white socks, gloves, etc.). CHECK THIS TWICE BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME!!! Make sure everything is clearly labeled.

*Label your uniform bag, hat box, etc.

*Marching Band Shoes must be packed in your carry-on bag that will go with you onto the bus. DO NOT pack your white band shoes in your uniform garment bag, and DO NOT pack them in your luggage that goes underneath the bus.

*Uniform bags (WITHOUT SHOES) and hat boxes will be loaded on the truck
• Sleeping bag – small pillow (No tents allowed)
• Change of clothes
• Towel, wash cloth, and all personal hygiene items
• Warm coat - Warm clothes
• Extra socks
* $$ for 2 fast-food meals

** Students: Do Not Bring With You On This Trip:
* An obsessive amount of junk food—not allowed in Merrill Gym—it may be confiscated.
• Radios or boom boxes. (ipods are acceptable)
• Portable video, lap tops, computers, etc.
• Skateboards, other equipment

All students must turn in a medical permission form before they are allowed to travel with the band. (Students will receive the form in school this week)

The $90 season transportation fee (due 9/21) must also be turned in.
