Deadline for turning in Varsity Band Letter Point Information This Friday
May 15, 2007West Band students who participate in extra-curricular band activities have the opportunity to earn points towards a West Varsity Band Letter.*
Forms are available in the West band room, and are due on Friday May 18. Students who participate in various band activities including Solo and Ensemble, marching band, private lessons, honor bands, etc., can earn points for each activity. The number of points awarded for each band activity varies, and is listed on the form.
Varsity Band Letter Points are cumulative from year to year, thus students are encouraged to complete a new form each year. Students who earn 100 points are eligible to receive a Varsity Band Letter*, and students may earn serivice bars for each 100 points earned beyond the first 100.
The West Band Varsity Letter Point form may also be downloaded by clicking on the link below.
*Students at West are eligible to receive only one Varsity Letter.* If a band student has already earned a Varsity Letter in another activity, then they would receive the band service bar for each 100 points earned through band activities. Varsity Band Letters and service bars are distributed at the annual Band Awards Banquet (May 29 - 6:30 PM)
