Cadets Rock Cudahy and Fort Atkinson!
October 15, 2006

The Cadets of Waukesha West returned from Cudahy and Fort Atkinson after delivering two excellent performances of their 2006 show "Traditions."

The Cadets had a very productive afternoon rehearsal on Saturday before heading over to Cudahy High School. Their 9 PM performance was very strong and well received by the stadium crowd as well as several hundred airline passengers who caught a glimpse of the show from a very unique perspective! (ask anyone who was there....)

At Cudahy the Cadets received the first place trophy for the evening, and they also received caption awards for Best Music Performance, Best Visual Performance, and Best Color Guard.

On Sunday the Cadets held a quick pre-performance rehearsal at West before heading over to Fort Atkinson. At Fort Atkinson the Cadets gave another excellent performance which earned another first place trophy and Caption Awards for High General Effect and High Winds.

The Cadets enter their final week of rehearsals and performances in an excellent position to add final touches and polishing to this year's outstanding production. This week's performances include a home football game halftime performance on Wednesday evening, and the WSMA State Marching Band Championships at UW-Whitewater on Saturday at 8:30 PM. Rehearsals outside of the school day include a Color Guard practice Monday evening, a full band rehearsal on Thursday evening, and a full band rehearsal on Saturday afternoon.

The Cadets organization would like to thank all parents and family members for your support this season, and we hope to see you cheering us on at our final events this week. Details regarding Saturday's events will be posted on the website Monday evening.
