Memorial Day Parade Instructions
Monday May 25, 2009
1. The only students who should meet at West High school are all Percussionists, Color Guard Members, and Tuba players.
The Color Guard should report to West at 7:45 am in order to practice the performance routine. Color Guard Uniform: TBA
Battery Percussionists and Tuba players should report to West at 8:30 to load equipment on the bus.
We will load ONE BUS and depart for the parade site at 9:00 am.
2. All other marching band members should meet directly at Whiterock Elementary School. Get dropped off anywhere near Whiterock school, and meet in the parking lot behind the school. Take your instruments and uniforms home with you on Friday, and go directly to Whiterock Elementary School at 9:15 am on Monday. The parade starts at 10:15 so be sure to meet at 9:15 sharp! (We will run the performance a few times before we step off.)
3. All students need to have their complete uniform including hat, football plume, football pants, white shoes, white socks, Guard uniform, etc. Make sure you have your instrument/equipment as well. (The band room at West will be open on Monday morning from 8:00 until 9:00 in case you forget to take your instrument home on Friday.) Everyone must report in full uniform!! Do not bring cases with you to the parade site. Have only what you need to perform with when you arrive at 9:15 am.
4. Parking near the Whiterock Elementary school is limited. We suggest you get dropped off at Whiterock Elementary. The end of the parade will be near Cutler Park (next to the Library, Band Shell, and Central Middle School). We suggest you make arrangements to be picked up at this area. The Central Middle School parking lot and the Library parking lot should be pretty clear. The parade starts at 10:15, our best estimate is that we will be finished around 11:15 am am.
